Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Short version: you can read this site without an account, I don’t run ad trackers, and your favorites stay on your own phone. Here are the details.
Who runs this site
Gluten-Free on Main Street (glutenfreeonmainstreet.com) is a personal site run by Tyler. For any privacy question, email [email protected].
What I collect
- No accounts, comments or sign-ups. You can’t create an account or leave comments, and there’s no newsletter, so I don’t ask for your name or email.
- Visitor statistics. I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages are read and how fast they load. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t follow you to other sites, and doesn’t identify you personally.
- Server and security logs. Like every website, the server and Cloudflare (which protects and speeds up the site) briefly record technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser and the page requested. These are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are kept for a limited time.
- Emails you send me. If you email me, I’ll use your message and address only to reply.
Favorites stay on your device
When you save a dish or restaurant to My favorites, it’s stored in your browser on your own device (using “local storage”). It isn’t sent to me. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Cookies
The site doesn’t set advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell real visitors from bots. WordPress sets login cookies only for me when I’m logged in to write posts.
Affiliate links
Some links (for example to tickets, hotels or travel planners) are affiliate links. If you click one, the company you visit may set its own cookie so it knows you came from this site, and I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Their own privacy policies apply once you’re on their site. See the affiliate disclosure.
Advertising
There are no ads on the site right now. If I add them, I’ll update this page first and explain what the ad provider collects and how to opt out.
Who else handles data
- Cloudflare — delivers and protects the site, and provides the visitor statistics.
- Dropbox — stores backups of the site’s content and settings. Backups don’t include visitor statistics.
I don’t sell or share your information with anyone else. Fonts are hosted on this site, not loaded from Google.
Children
This site is written for adults planning trips. I don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your choices
You can ask me what information I have about you (usually none beyond an email you sent) or ask me to delete it by emailing [email protected]. You can also block cookies or clear local storage in your browser settings; the site still works.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top of this page.
